Default help with race boots...

does anyone have personal preferance with differant brands of race boots? I am looking at a pair of alpine stars at $260 and not really sure if i spend that much money (a) are they comfortable? and (b) is it worth the extra money or save $100 and buy cheaper? Thanks for any advice you all may have!!

If you are going to be racing the get the astars tech 10's if you are just riding and want a good pair of boots either the tech 6's or 8's will work.

I bought my first pair of FOUR boots with the atv sole, less than $100, buckles work great and they have never hurt my feet.

I just bought the Fox Comp5 boots, they are comfortable once broken in, water proof and protect the ankle and upper leg nicely.

I agree. I have the same boots. At first I wasn't a fan, but now that they are broken in they are much more comfortable. Also, I have had bad luck with boots not holding up for more than a few rides. These seem to be holding up exceptionally well thus far.

How long did it take for them to be "broken in"?

I use A-S Tech 3 boots with a A/T sole and love them for riding my Raptor.

I have had good luck with all my sub $200 boots by Fly, Thor, and MSR.......Alpine Stars are great and you cannot go wrong with them..... but just like $150 boots they will eventually wear out too.... so if you can afford them, get them...... if not don't be afraid to spend a little less, you will still have safe feet and they will still hold up pretty well by comparison....
