Many years ago I bought the Original GoPro Hero. I hated that camera and it's video wasn't very good. After seeing some videos my brother shot with his I bought a GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition this past spring. It is amazing how far they've come and the quality of the video.

Only way to go is a GoPro now. I agree, the original was awful but since they started shooting HD, the quality has gotten so much better.

Default There is an alternative to go pro

I ACTUALLY grabbed a Akaso EK7000 pro from Amazon for 70 bucks and I put it on my helmet ( comes with optional waterproof cover andmany attachments for many angles) this camera

Akaso EK7000 Pro (Action Camera)
keeps up with the trail riding.. I was so surprised. I fly through my trails on my Honda CRF 450 and it was clean quality. You should check it out. You can return for free if you are not satisfied.
