Yep,you're right.Said Wiseco cause I had it on the brain and staring at one he had.. Cast pistons for these little ones. What about the Chinese Lt80 kits on ebay? Had several people use ones for Polaris youth models with good results, but this looks almost too good to be true? Kinda learned over the years when it seem too good, then sometimes best to bypass it .. Just wondering if they're junk or not..http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUZUKI-LT-80-LT80-CYLINDER-PISTON-KIT-RINGS-GASKETS-PIN-TOP-END-SET-1987-2006-b-/200977295502?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ecb2e288e&vxp=mtr

OPT: I bought one of those kits to check it out.
It's all there. No identification on the piston.
A member reported that the company selling states that they cylinders are Suzuki and that they have sold thousands.
I can say that the cyl's are not the same. The Suzuki Cyl's are heavily chamfored. The china cyl has no chamforing. Not a big deal to chamfer but they are not the same. A lie???
I see where they import from. With import tax, about 20 bucks a kit.
A customer is getting this kit I have and we'll see.

On a side note, The nice UPS guy delivered me a nice new dial bore cyl gauge today.

I have one of the kits on one of my kfx80's. I did chamfer the ports myself and polished the exhaust port. I gave my concerns to seller about the chamfering he said if I was worried to send it back for refund. I did put on uni filter boysen reeds milled the head .030, gave it a two hour half throttle break- in with my granddaughters. Took my grandson out two weeks later he took it trail riding with me, it performed very good actually. We climbed pretty steep hills, kept up with me in mid to upper second gear ( ltz 400) he seems to only know one throttle position WIDE OPEN! I would have to say, I would have my concerns about the no chamfering and hanging a piston ring and breaking it, but they claim they have had no problems from it. So far I have about 10 solid hours of riding on it, it is the one that I keep idled down for my granddaughters and youngest grandson. Haven't done a compression test to see how it's holding up,but after break-in it had 122 psi cold, will do one to kill my curiosity. Can't say every kit will give the same result, so far so good for me, but the wallet and the mindset at the time said try it. Also didn't like the real thin head gasket so I used the oem one from the old cylinder , which will eventually make its way to receive "Moore Power".

So if you guys have had good experience with the no name piston kits, I think I'm going to go that route. My son had never ridden an atv, so I'm going to have the throttle turned way down for a while until he gets the hang of it.

What to you guys think of this kit? Little confused about the bearing and third ring that comes with it, they even call the bearing out in the description.

Also, doesn't look like I'm getting any gas to the cylinder. Took the carb apart and cleaned it really good. Couple of the ports were dirty, but didn't seem to make a difference. Any ideas?

You want the kit with the new cylinder or you won't improve anything.

It's only 20 bucks more for the complete cylinder kit ($39.95) Still cheap even if it only lasts a couple years. Things like this is why we are so indebted to China, but everyone, including MYSELF are always looking for cheaper prices. We're getting what we pay for:cheap prices, cheaper quality, lost American jobs, greedy corporations, err sorry! That's for another section in the forum..

Ok, so got the kit OPT posted, just came in the mail today. Couple few about the kit before I get started.

It came with 3 rings. What's the thin third ring for? Anything?

The rings don't have a "T" mark. Does it matter which side goes up?

It also has a bearing to put around the pin. Am I supposed to use this? Don't remember one of these with the wiseco piston.

I don't use that thin ring.
There is a top/bottom to rings. There "should" be a mark of some kind on a ring end.
You do have that bearing. I'd use the new one.
