Default banshee vs. 400ex vs. 250r

Hey this is my first post here on atv connection. First off, I had a blaster a year or so ago, but I sold it to buy a dirt bike. Now I am wanting another quad. The blaster wasn't ehough. I am only fourteen so I do not have a lot of money to spend. I am looking for a sport quad in the 2500-3000 range. I have ridden my friends raptor and I liked it, but I ain't got the money for one of those! I just sold my dirt bike tonight so I am dying to get something.

My first question, I got frustrated with my 2stroke dirt bike in the winter, would a banshee have the same problem? I want to ride alot in the snow. I am pretty good with 2 strokes. I also ride some tight trails, and in some open areas, and I don't like to go fast All of the time. I am worried about foulling out the plugs by bogging a banshee.

I think that the 250r is a little old for my tastes, so right now I am stuck in between the banshee and the 400ex. I am also gonna try to get down to the lIttle Sahara dunes in OK. so I am worried about a 400ex lacking power.

Sorry for the long Post, had a lot on my mind, my head hurts. Thanks for any input.

the 400EX would be perfect for u. it has lots of low end power, and goes fast when u want it to. it's a four stroke so it should be fine in the snow. it's reliable and a very nice quad. i'm 15 so i know where u r comin from about the money. compared to the raptor the 400EX is really cheap. when u say that ur really good with 2 strokes i'm not sure what u mean. the only difference that i know of between riding a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke is the throttle control. the four strokes it's better to hold the throttle, rather than let it on and off. also, the four strokes aren't as high-revving as the 2 strokes. they have more torque than horse power. hope this helps u. get a honda.

well said. IMO, the 400 has a way better chassis wich translates into better handling. Not better than a 250R, but better than a raptor, and definitely better than a banshee.

On the 250R thing - you will not find a good one for that price range. I have one and my family has owned just about everything out there. They handle extemely well and are "that dam good," but you will have to pay to get one that isnt ragged out. The 400ex would be a good choice and they can be had at a reasonable price. If you get bored with the 400, then start saving some $$$ and hop it up.

Cro biker, sorry, I just meant that I am pretty goood at riding a 2 stroke, and maintaining one and all of that stuff. This week I am going to go look at some used banshee's and ex's and try to ride em and see what I like. I know honda's are really reliable casue we have had several honda dirt bikes in my family. I have cash in hand and I want to go out and find what I want casue I haven't ridden in months.
thanks.

Thanks for your input, but last night I whent out and rode a used banshee. I liked it alot so tonight I am going to pick it up. It has pipes, boost bottle, and some head mods. I got it at a really good price. It is one scary ride though!

I am 16 and i love my 400ex. I do agree it could use a little better suspension(im 280 lbs) and some more power but it's a great package.
