I got my new Z400 yesterday and rode it for about ten minutes. the first major hill I went up I gashed my tire and had to head back for the truck.

I was wondering what the best aftermarket tires would be. I am a trailrider and not a racer. I was considering the holeshot XC or the kenda claws. can anyone let me know if they have tried these.

 

I have run Holeshot XC's on all my bikes for years. They have stood up to thousands of miles of hard a$$ desert!! I have never had a flat on any of my bikes, ever!!

 

I don't know I'm looking to get some more "tractor like tread" oriented tires to get through mud better. I know they won't hook up like the stockers or razors or something like that but for trail riding they'll work good. Recon were you ride in Cali and the desert I'm not surprised you haven't had any flats. Out here in the east with all these sharp rocks and tree limbs and stupid people that throw glass bottles, nails, etc etc.. there are too many chances to have flats. I'd say no matter what tires you get out here you'll eventually get a flat. Just get some tires you like and suite your riding style and get some plugs and an electric air pump and you're set.

 

Maxxis Razrs are pretty good tires, I have a set on my 300ex that im selling. I have a brand new pair of Razr Rears still in the packaging that im trying to sell. They havent even been mounted yet, if your interested send me a message. Thanx

i have razr's there 22x11x9 6 ply gives u an inch better clearance on the bvack and grip good 6 ply so u really dont have to worry about punctures
