Not to get anyone mad, but there seems to be alot of bashing on the new yfz. I have hade mine for 1 1/2 months now and can say without being biased (little white lie) that the yfz will beat 90 percent of all quads iv'e raced, be it sand or hard pack. The other 10 percent are highly modified machines. Were talkin raptors, ds's, banshee's, predator's, and a couple of 250r's, but none of the modified 400cc quads modified or not. Basicaly if u want to pit stock against stock the yfz will win every time. Just my oppinion from first hand experience at pismo and hollister .

The TRX450 is coming out, it will be interesting to see how they match up.

 

first of all honda doesnt match up to yamaha not to bash but the yfz as much as i like my z400 is the best quad u can buy (sport quad)

You might want to be cautious of some of those modified 400's. I've had my @$$ handed to me by
the Sparks 465's on alcohol. A Sparks Z400 "I don't know what was done to that thing". And a Sparks KFX400. I assume the mods were the same as the Z400

 

the 450 yamaha is no doubt a very fast machine in stock form but a properly set up 440 ex will leave it behind in a drag race and i have seen my wife do that very thing recently at the dunes where we ride.i sure wouldnt knock the 450 but it is not the unbeatable ride that some are claiming although it is very impressive especially in the holeshot department.

 

A properly set up YFZ450 should beat a properly set up 440ex hands down. Unless that 440 is running on alcohol.
