Default Is there a "perfect" quad for drag racing and trails??

I was curious to know what the feelings were on a quad for both drag racing and trails. I am talking about racing on soft/hard sand and occassionally grass. The trails we ride range from sandy to heavy woods to rocky(big variety). I had an 01 raptor and the boots kept blowing off, tranny problems and my engine builder screwed up his work which gave me a big headache. However, I would still buy another one. A friend has 2 predators and they are pretty damn good quads so I was thinking that I could get one and add NOS for racing. I can get a 03 predator for $5600 OTD here in town whereas I would have to pay $7300 OTD for the new 450(haven't ridden one yet) and I have seen some pretty cheap dales. I would like a quad that could do both WELL without making any changes to do so - other than tires. Granted, I am not talking about beating any 100hp banshees or the like - just good ol' boy racing. I am 5' 11" and weigh 200lbs. I have a budget of $8000.00 and wanted to purchase next week, but I may wait on Honda's new toy depending on their upcoming news.

well the raptor you had was probably one of the best for both trails and drags, other than that i would say the kfx700,but if you are going to put alot of mods on it then go with the kfx/z400,these work real good to mods.Put the yoshimura 450 kit in it and you'll be flying.
