Default Best Quad for me Please Help

4500$ could have you a: pipe01' raptor (tranny querks), A SICK 99'-00'BANSHEE!!(pipes,shocks,tires/rims,head,reeds,filter,maybe ported), A sick 99' 400ex (maybe big bore, shocks, tires, a-arms, axle). There you go.

i like the idea of a SICK 99 400EX with some goodies. What about this Z400 i keep hearing about. What does everyone think about the Z and what about it compared to the 400??????

There isnt too much of a comparison of the Z400 vs the 400ex. the Z is a step or 5 obove the ex in evey category, same price, same weight, more power and responds better to upgrades. not to mention reverse and liquid cooling on top of dual cams. but its easier to find a used ex over a used z. i did notice alot of used raptors showing up for sale now. but you really should try to take a ride on all of them and see what you like best.

alright everyone stop saying that the z is the same price as the ex. I could get a used ex that runs good for 3000 EASILY. I know for a fact you cant do that with the z. Yes, the z has a mph or two over the ex and liquid cooling, but I wouldn't ever get a bike with that ***** of a frame. Plus the ex has ten times the aftermarket parts as a z. Don't get me wrong the z is an awesome bike and I would love to have one, but ex has so much more potential. If I were you i would get an ex for around 3300, and dump 1200 into mods, you could blow the **** out of any stock z that would cost the same price as the modded ex. my 2 cents.

Default Best Quad for me Please Help

Made up my mind everone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everypost has been helpful. but when it comes down to it I will not let my self stray from the color red that i have ridden for so many years. Not once have i been let down by a honda product. And with the 400EX i am sure it will be the same. Also I like being the underdog so i dont mind riding a little slower machine than some poeple have but for some reason i win Well who looks like a dummy now.

A little story for a few of the non honda riders........ I also have a 94 Fortrax 300 2WD. Aflter many many many years of beating the ever living hell out of this bike. I decided i would put a new clutch in the thing before it got to slipping. Well when i took it apart and the damn thing looked BRAND NEW. but i could not send that parts back to honda cause they were special order. So i put them any way. That night my uncle brought over his new big bear 400cc i think it is 02. He had a power kit from highlifter. that includes a full exhaust K&N filter and Jet kit. Well i decided to take the little 300 out for a little ride and he wanted to race me. keep in mind this is not a sport bike NOT 300EX. it is a 300fortrax utility quad. Well we lined up form a stop and we went by the time we hit third i was 3 bikes out and after the top of 5th i clould not see him through all the dust in the air. Needless to say we went sevral more time in a row him trying evry trick in the book to beat me but no prevail. Today the bike still runs and it has NEVER HAD ANY ANY ANY PARTS BREAK. thats why i will RIDE RED FOR EVER.

ok i got a few corrections for ya Slick! the Z is infact the same exact price as the Ex, both at 5799$ MSRP*. and the z is about 5 mph faster, not just 2. and ofcourse you wont find a used Z in good condition for 3000 because there still new and worth more used than an Ex. (and that 3000$ ex will most likely be worn out). but you do have one thing right, it will take a ex with "1200$" worth of mods to "blow the ****" out of a "stock" Z. im not trying to start an arguement here, so dont throw a child-fit because i wont care....but you honda fanboys have to realize that outside of dirtwheels magazine, the Z is a far Superior quad than the EX, and the EX is very outdated. remember, we live in a real world, not inside of a bias publication. nuff said.

I would go with the KFX 400 because a bud of mine beat a piped 400ex with his stock kfx 400,the only thing he did to his is took out the baffel.
