Elka -vs- Works
I need some new front shocks for my 400EX. I've talked to Axis, Elka, and Works. Axis is way too expensive for me. Elka was saying about $530 and Works about $360. Elka has ride height adj. and triple rate springs. Works has pre load adj. and triple rate springs. I mostly ride dunes, but i'm riding dirt a lot now. is there one company that is much better than the other? do i need ride height adj. more than pre load? both shocks are expandable to resiviors. thanx for the help.

Elka -vs- Works
I have Works on the 400EX (Steelers with cans). Landing a huge jump is like landing on pillows!! One thing people don't realize is that these are meant to be rebuildable (unlike stock). Just send them back each year for a quick once over! It is a local company, so turnaround is short. I would suggest doing the rear also!!

Elka -vs- Works
I have tried Works, Elkas, and the newer TCS shocks, and I prefer the TCS by far. The Works are great for the money but I never could get my Elkas dialed in just right. I had them set up for my weight and ability also. The TCS soak up everything and I feel they're the best for the money. I paid $800 for a pair of long travel 19'' and worth every penny.

Elka -vs- Works
unfortunately i can't afford the more expensive shocks. whatever i get will be the basic shock that the company has to offer. in about another month i'll be able to afford the Works and i'm leanin towards that since the price is lower. but i really like the ride height adj. on the Elka. i'll call Works tommorrow (i guess it would be today now...12:30 AM) and see what they can do. I would love to get some triple rate fully adj. with remote rezzies, but i don't have $1200+ to spend. if i did, i'd be buyin my 416 kit when i get the shocks, but i figure that the shocks r a better way to go for now. thanx again for the info.
