My 04' baja X went 77.1 mph totally stock maxed out and pinging the rev limiter in 5th. With the edition of a +1 front sprocket, RWR clutch springs, K&N with stock jetting I am hitting 81.9 mph in the same distance (1/4 mile) but I still hit the rev limiter about 100ft from the end. I have pulled every Raptor modded or stock that i have raced. I have never raced a bored or stroked Raptor so I imagine the results would be a bit different if I had. I have however raced many, many piped, jetted and airboxed modded raptors and have pulled everyone by the end of 4th gear at the latest. I shift into 5th and start to pull hard on them. One of my friends did hit 80mph on his piped rappy. His machine ran the best out of all of the piped raptors. He has a first generation Curtis Sparks pipe on his.

cop there is no way your friend has a sparks pipe and his quad only does 80 because my raptor did 83 stock and when i added the curtis sparks pipe before i got the 690 kit i was doing around 90 my yfz even goes faster than that ds when it was stock my yfz did 82 stock and it was quicker than my raptor

Ya the DS650 definatly has them all on top end. Even at that, the rev limiter on it is set so low that you just bounce of it at 75MPH. Plus being geared really low you hit the limiter VERY fast. If you get a different rev box and/or gear up a tooth you can have some scary top end speed. I geared my DS650 up a tooth and I passed a truck that was supposedly going 90MPH but I know truck speedo's arn't always accurate. But the guy in the truck was blowed away by the top end of my DS. But I know you can get 80+MPH by gearing up a tooth. I kinda like it geared stock for summer for the extra torque though. But again, the rev limiter is a pain in the a$$ and I sure hope I get a different rev box soon..... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]
