Ok I had to laugh at this one, "my friend has a yz 250f and kept up with a Busa until 50". NO WAY IN HELL, a 250 fourstroke bike is not that fast, not even close to a Busa. Come on now a Busa has upwards to 150+ hp at the wheel, that yz250f might have 30hp at the wheel. Keep dreaming bro. Anyway back to the topic, I've raced 125's and 250's with my Pred. The 125 is no big deal. The 250 on the otherhand is no joke. My friend who is a very experienced 250 rider races me all the time just for jokes, if on a good gravel or hard dirt surface if I can get him on the launch I'm slightly in front until I shift into 4th then he goes flying past. 250's have got to be the fastest thing in the dirt, I don't think anything except for an old school CR500 can beat one.

ive raced one.. i beat it.. bottom line dont tell me diff.. a 125 is fast.. but not that fast..

the yz125 doesn't have the power to beat a big bore atv. and there is no way, i mean no way any dirt bike is going to keep up with a 1300 busa. at 50mph the bike has already hit at least three gears and i would still be in first. the yz426 that i just sold had about 40hp at the rear wheel and it had several mods done to it. my gsx1300r has been dynoed at 174hp @ the rear wheel with an exhuast, and some tunning. and don't even think about a dirt bike getting near me when i hit the juice. i will admit that a dirt bike might stay with me for the first 100 yards or so if we are on some loose dirt but then again you will never catch me running my baby off the pavement, not on purpose at least. i raced a raptor with my yz426 and he got the hole shot but then i started to gain on him but didn't have quite enough to beat him, he won by a dew feet. it wasn't a stock raptor but was modded pretty close to the same as my bike. if you lne up a stock dirt bike and a stock atv they will run close but they have to be close to the same displacement. cfr450, yz450f against a preditor or ds.

 

Are you guys insane?? Man my friend steve rides a predator.. And my friends kevin has a 2002 yz125 a 96 cr125. My friends predator beat both of them by about 3 lengths.. And my raptor beat them by about 5.

Off the line in dirt your going to get stomped by the dirt bike everytime. Once the quad catches traction though its over. On asphalt the 125 will jump off the line faster, but its over quickly once the quad gets going. On a 250, your gonna have a fight on your hands. Thats 48-52 hp in a 211lb. frame compared to 37-45hp in a 350lb(at best) frame. You do the math...... I hate to bust ya'lls ego's, but your gonna lose to the 250, and off the line the 125 is gonna make ya look bad at least. I've raced db's for 10yrs, and been around/raced quads for 12yrs. Thats my opinion as I've SEEN it in person. Take it or leave it.
