The Predator's do rev really quick too. Not quite like the yamaha 450, but look at the carb on the predator... Same carb that's on the DS650 and it's the biggest piece of $hit ever created for a carb. Vaccume slide and all that bull$hit. I'm very surprised they rev as quick as they do with that carb! I'm not trying to step on any toes, but if the Predator had a 39FCR, it would rev like the Yamaha 450 without a doubt. That vaccume slide crap is exactly that. I can't wait to get rid of my DS carb becuase how bad it detunes the motor!

The 39mm keihin FCR carb runs about $700 but it's fancy! I'm gonna try one on my DS650 because my uncle might buy a YZ426F motor and he's gonna give me the carb to try. (39mm FCR) The lectron 46mm HV carb runs about $350-400 if I'm not mistaken. You can get Mukuni HSR 42-48mm carbs for like $300-400 I think. Of course you can find then cheaper used so you might wanna try that. Buying a "new" carb isn't exactly cheap.
Tin, Dirtwheels tested the new GasGas 450 and the first thing they said about it was how dissapointed they were about the poor throttle response for a fuel injected quad. They said it had a lot of torque but they didn't think it was up to par with the Yamaha 450.

Pushin, it was later on in the article or a different mag, that said once they figured out the power delivery, the quad was nice, but still needs a few thing ironed out. I have the 450 motorcycle, and the throttle responce is spot on. I went riding with a couple of guys from work with YZ450F's, they didn't know what the Gas Gas was, and had no idea it was FI, they both said it accelerated hard, fast and smooth, no hit. It was too heavy for them, they track ride, I trail ride.

Guys, isn't it the TPS ignition set up a huge part of why the Yami revs so quickly? The ignition curve is allowed to be more extreme because it works based on the TPS.... As far as I know, the YFZ is the only quad with this type of set up on a carb.

I think if you are really serious and have a 250r now you would be really impressed by the yxf450. If you are close to some MX race place go look. You will see some there allmost definatly. There excellent bike stock and OMG when you tweak it and get it pumped up its amazing. Just a little different riding style than the 250. I found myself waiting just a second or 2 for power in lowend on my 250r and the 450 you just hold on for dear life. Good luck on whatever you buy.
