Default Bansee vs. Raptor

a friend of mine just bought an 04 Banshee and its stock. He raced a stock Raptor on a drag strip for 1/8 mile at MIR in Maryland. It was very close but the Banshee won. If you pop the clutch on the raptor which I assume is how everyone drags, the Raptor will launch no matter what (stock). If the Raptor could stay on all 4's I think it would win. I hear people say Banshees are not all that stock, I have no idea what the hell you guys are used to... but it is fast as hell, even stock. I am should be gettin the yfz450 4/17 so if its faster than a stock Banshee it will be a long time before I mod the motor.

so even though a stock banshee and raptor make 34-36 hp, a banshee will win no matter what? no. it wont.

in a drag race, who ever hooks up better will win. through a set of pipes on both, and the banshee will edge it out.

in the woods, the raptor is better cuz you can put it in 2nd or 3rd and just go, no shifting required

on the track, the raptor has the better suspention, and a better power delivery to beet the shee

I agree. 2-strokes are just made for dragging... but on the trails, the banshee will have to keep shifting to keep it in the powerband, the rapter has too much tourqe to have to shift!!!

Dont it depend on the rider? I dont get beat by many 4 strokes. Unless I miss shift.

Ive never heard so many ppl argue in my life, a bunch of people defending their quad till u die, hm......depends really on wut u want 2 stroke powerband or a 4 stroke, i have the rap but have never raced a shee, i think they are the same, but i kno for sure a modded shee will smoke a modded rap, neways i like my bike and i aint changin so stop defending ur quad and go post somewhere else.

I have an 98 Banshee and a friend of mine has an 01 Raptor. In a drag race they are fairly even, it all depends on who gets traction and/or shifts better. I found the Raptor to be much more forgiving and easier to ride on the MX track. As far as trails, I believe it depends on the rider, again the Raptor is much more forgiving but the Banshee can easily keep up. I personally think the Banshee is much more fun to ride. My friend previously had a Banshee and is giving serious thought to getting rid of hs Raptor and getting another Banshee. He says the Raptor is not as much fun.
