i rode tweo strokes for years but when the YZ426 came out it changed my mind on four strokes. the new four strokes are tough to beat. you don't have to worry about getting your rpm's up because they pull from the start to the redline. the throttle response is unbelievable and they are very reliable. the 426 and 450 is larger but the 250 should perform as good. the one thing i loved was the way the power was always there. second gear and just hit the throttle even at a low rpm and the front was coming up! that helps a lot powering out of a turn. the only draw back i had with mine was the rotating mass was so light that it seemed easy to stall but a wirghted flywheel fixed that. someone metioned the maintenance, you will spend more time riding and less time rebuilding with a four stroke and won't have to spend as much too. four strokes the way to go.

Ive been riding dirtbikes and fourwheelers for a while now. I love dirtbikes and have nothing against them, but fourwheelers are a lot more fun IN MY OPINION on the trials definately and just cruising, they are just more of a blast. But if you are going to get a dirtbike i say get the 2 strokes, nothing like a 2 stroke dirtbike!
