Banshee VS 250r. Whose king?
#71
i never heard of a 100hp banshee being set up for "low end" (which means low rpm power, NOT acceleration...two different things). and you just answered your own question about yamaha producing the banshee... they didnt build it to compete with the 250s, they built it as a dune/recreational quad..
Oh and by the way Duncan Racing Has a CP Cylinder Mono Block Serval thats 500cc's and all the Cylinder Spec's Match the 88-89 TRX-250R, It's just a Dual set up. It comes as a complete Kit, For those of you that are back and forth between the Banshee and the TRX-250R that might be the answer.
Duncan Racing's 500cc ELIMINATOR Engine Kit
POWER CURVE: All Around aggressive throttle response, Very strong low/midrange pull, without sacrificing excellent top end.
*NOTES: DRI Banshee 500cc ELIMINATOR Kits are the best combination of performance, reliability and value on the market today.

They are both kings...
really... banshee would probably beat 250r at drag, but 250r would be great on the trails... here...
watch this guy's videos on his channel:

check out the black mountain hillclimbs... pretty good videos

Both quads rule and own crowns in their own respected divisions in the ATV world STILL!
Banshee VS TRX250R To me I chose the Banshee for woods/hillclimbs/ XC Racing for the fact that Im almost 300lbs and the power and geometry suite me perfect. Not to say I dident go out of my way to make it handel like a 250R with all of the suspension, arms, stem, flexx bars and the list goes on.
I had a 250r and it was nimble in the woods but it wasent as thrilling as a twin 350cc modded motor.
iM GONNA HAVE TO GIVE IT TO THE bANSHEE THOUGH SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WAS PRODUCED FOR 20+ YEARS AND THERE ARE ENDLESS OPTIONS TO MAKE IT INTO YOUR OWN DREAM MACHINE. lsr sTILL MAKES THE 250R geo cHASSIE. (Sorry bout the caps) their are endless options to squese power matched to the custom 2 stroke thrill ride of your journey and lets face it in a straight line there still isent an ATV that can hold a stick to the SHEE. Not even the ZILLA Mod for Mod.
Banshees and 250Rs still compete on the tracks and trails and always will because they are just more fun to ride. Ask just about any pro racer and they will agree. 4 strokes took over due to enviorment issues and there is nothing we can do but preserve out 2 strokes. The aftermarket is still there in full force!

I was out with my buddy today he had his banshee(formerly mine), and I was on my esr 310R. I was able to take him off the line and hold him drag racing. His cylinders have higher quality port work than mine both bikes have intakes and bigger carbs. He wanted to try the R so we switched and I couldn't wait for him to finish his ride. The way the R handles combined with the great power makes it king. I like banshees but they handle like a funny car. Hands down trx250R over everything!
