hey Guys

i was wondering witch Sport quad really pulls away from the rest of the group i am gonna get a quad and wanted to know witch one was best on trails and hillclimbs or handing

 

get a yfz450

 

450R will probly be best for the trails........

 

i heard that the yfz is hard but fast and it is a lil more on the high price rather than the other quads

 

from what i ahve heard the yfz is a little better for racing but the 450r is better for trails its more rider friendly.

 

I take it you have a 400ex now????? Just guessing by your graphic.

I would get a raptor for trails, although the 450r might be better but i havent ever rode one so i cant say

 

is the raptor all that good or should i just stick with a 450r

 

The raptor is a good quad. It is a torque monster and can be modded with amazing success. It has reverse and electric start. I would think you would have to mod the raptor center of gravity and width to make it perform the same or similar to a 400ex or 450r.
We have a guy that rides some aggressive tight trails with his raptor and he just gets smoked. We have to stop every so often and wait, because he just can't handle as well going fast. In a straight line though, he eats our lunch. The little 400ex just doesn't have the power.

I'm going with the 450R. I'll have to adjust to not having the magic button, if I kill it going up a hill- I'll have to learn how to kick on the hill or simply slide down. I love my 400ex, but wanted more power. I don't have reverse now, so no change there. The YFZ is awesome fast, but not the right quad for me due to ergos and I hear it is rough on the trails. For some though, it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Knowing that you already had a 400ex, I don't think you will be happy with the Raptor handling. I think the 450R is going to have similar power compared to the raptor with better handling. The power will be close to that of a YFZ, but not quite. The 450R does have a smooth powerband and good low end torque as well.

There should be some more reviews of the 450R by actual owners coming up in the next few weeks.
