If you can cold start it without the choke it's too rich.
If it's really hard to cold start it's too lean.

Just an update if anyone was following... I finally got a chance to try the 165 main jet out today and it was way too rich at the top end. I ended up downsizing all the way back to what DJ reccomended as a start point, the 150 main jet. Runs real well with that jet. Sometimes bigger ain't always better [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

LOL...some people kill me when they think that the bigger main jet they run the faster it will go. I tried EVERY main jet just about when I had my stock carb, to get the Z dialed in as best as I could, and ended up with a 160 Mikuni. I tried all Dynojets from 144-155, Mikuni 150, 155, 160, 165, 170, etc...
