Outdated frame?????As for the starters I have to disagree with you,two of my friends have Raptors, 01' and 02'.Neither has had starter problems and the 01' still has the original tranny.I'd say both machines have well over 100 hours.

This is input from a Raptor hater.I personally dislike both machines for some of there characteristics.Like the high center of gravity on the Raptor and the predator is just way underpowered,I am not brand loyal(I also own honda),but I'd take a Rap over a Predator anyday.

The only place a pred might shine is a MX track,but a 450r or Yfz450 will quickly cast a shadow on the Predator.I don't hate polaris,I'm a big fan of the Sportsman,but the Predator is somewhat of a dissapointment IMO.

 

I think that you are kinda mistaken/bias, when you say a rappy over a pred anyday. Anyday?? That is a pretty big statement, I would probably say that both have their ups and downs, and both quads are fairly new and have a long ways still to grow. With them both being good in different areas, I would choose which one best fits my riding style. The pred is by no means underpowered either. It does need a little more low end, but that is a quick fix with a front sprocket change. I like both quads, and would rather not put down either. They are basically equal and the need to buy one over the other would depend on riding style.

 

i own 2 predators and my buddy owns one. We have 2 friends we ride with that have raptors the only reason the beat me is because of better riding. My friend smokes them on his pred every time. But in a long drag the rappy might win. Handling goes to the pred id say. Also quality control goes to the pred. whatever floats ur boat.

 

People fight over these two way too much lol. Just make it simple, they are BOTH good, they both have ups, they both have downs, they are so close to being in the same. just get what appeals to you better. dont ask us "which is better, pred or rappy?" no offense, but thats a BS question lol. they are about the same, go ride em, whatever on you feel better on, get it! that simple, if you like blue or are a yammy fan, good for you, get yourself a raptor, if ya like grey or polaris, good for you, get a preddy, i aksed the same question before i bought to be honest, but i realized they are way too much alike to pick one better over another, predator fit me better then rappy, so i got it. its down to what you like!, good luck!

Ive seen many times those both and my yfz drag racing and i get the holeshot, and get passed on the top end and the pred was always in front on the top end, but till 4th , usualy their pretty even, the pred was always 2-3 mph faster on top end!....and we switched bikes too. Over all id pick the pred (over the rappy), i got many friends that has some preds and are pretty reliable too. Well i know for sure that polaris warranty are way better then the yamahas. Sorry for the long post but thats my oppinion and facts.

 

Whatever you guys need to tell yourselves to help you sleep better at night.Then you can dream about all the different tools you'll need to buy to take it apart.That was the first clue that the Predator was an inferior machine,they ran out of metric so they used whatever they had lying around.

The media overhyped them a bit and the owners are paying for it now.All I can say,if you own a Predator,it sucks to be you!!

 

Why? I love predators! one of the best quads i have ever been on, heck i would take a pred over my shee anyday...

 

Well it doesn't matter what tools you have to take it apart, if you don't have the right tools, you go buy more. Its just like anything else that takes different tools. So that is basically a stupid comment on your part. And if you feel sorry for us, that is just great because we feel sorry for you when you are riding with terrible suspension. We like what we ride, and you like what you ride. The pred owners are usually kind enough to give credit to both machines, and say that they are both pretty much equal, but people like you only favor one kind. I guess there is no shame in being brand loyal.

 

I personally am not a big fan of the pred. But theres really no better out of the two machines. The predator had good handling, but was lacking the bottom end and torque the raptor had. But by no means a bad machine, the Polaris is a very solid and fun machine to ride. Its really about personal preference of riding style, get what you want, as trailrider said, people wont give away there banshee for one, where as he will, its just riding style, and what you feel better on.
