It'd take a little more than a todler to handle a 400ex, but i think you could get used to it real fast, you cant grow out of them, they have tons of mods you can buy, they are going for dirt cheap, just sounds like you would like this quad if you got it, good luck.

i would have to say that he should look into either a warrior or a 300ex they havethe power when you need it and when you don;t need it they are good learning quads the clutch doesn't take that long to get used to at all just a little practice

well blablabla, it depends on your budget really, everyone else has great ideas! But i also happen to know that just about all those quads(or atvs) happen to fall into the $3500-$10000 doller price range.

so heres a starter list:
Yamaha Blaster- $4,000-5,000
Yamaha Beartracker- $3,500
Yamaha raptor- $3000-6000(depends on year)

As you can see yamahas are great quads, plus there cheap(for a quad). you might also like to look into suziki though.

so heres what I suggest. Go used! Also try riding a quad in the desert before you make up your mind. Believe me its more work than you think! For great deals go to Quadtrader.com!!

Mexican pesos maybe???

In US funds...
Blaster is 3k new
Raptor is 6k or less new

Warrior, 300ex, banshee, 400ex can all be found for around 2k-3500, with the 400ex being the priciest.

Beware of quadtrader.com, they have had a lot of ebay type scams on there in the last few months.
