Default Factory-modified shootout

Anyone read about the shootout in the April ATV Action mag. It was called Factory-Modified High-Performance Shootout, it was between the Raptor,DS650,Predator and the V-Force. They all had some performance stuff them. I thought it was a great acticle, they had good things to say about all the quads. But in the end they put the Raptor 1st, which I thought was cool since I have one.

Yeah, but how was the shootout for equality. Did some of the brands get mods that were nice and others get medium ones. For example on the pred...they could put a polaris pipe on it or even better an HPD pipe on it.

the thing that bummed me out was how on all the tests they talked about how good the ds650 was in all the catagories till they shortened the swingarm. That was the dumbest thing for bombardier to do.

They put factory stuff on the bikes. HPD doesnt provide the polaris brand pipes, so it would have been out of the spectrum of the tests to include it.

The shootout was a joke. If they had done the exact same thing to them, or if each company made similar products for their machines, it would have been a better comparison. Yamaha just has so many more performance mods than a lot of the other manufacturers do that it becomes pointless because they were not all improved proportionally.

i didn't like it and i'm writing my congressman because i own a ds! don't think i'm getting carried away do ya? honestly though the ds didn't have much chance since bombardier doesn't have many factory hp parts, or at least that i know of. plus since they kept mentioning the shorter swing arm hurting it i don't mind since mine is a 2001 and has the longer swing arm in case someone missed it i was only joking.

Don't put much stock in magazines, they are after ad revenue, plain and simple.
