Default replacement frames

My neighbor had a really bad crash on his new 2004 trx450r. The guys at the shop said his frame was bent and had a couple cracks near the front A-arms. They said they didnt know if they could fix it if they could it would be expensive and if they did it would not be the same again. They said they could get him a new frame for 1600 dollars. Is this an acurate price? High/ low average? Also He was wondering if there were any companies that he could order a frame from aftermarket. If he had replace the frame anyway why not get something better. Any suggestions?

Whatever you do do not order a frame from a local dealer unless you want to get raped. Go online to Servicehondahammond , they are far cheaper.

Go to albaaction.com. Look in the factory replacement parts and it shows the main frame at a cost of $480

Wow, what a price diff. thanks alot. i checked out the one on albaaction.com You just saved that kid alot of dough. Those guys must be counting in labor or something. I have a mechanical background would it be hard to swap everything over to the new frame or should we let some else do it? Also are you issued new VIN number with the new frame or what.

Fair enough, LOL

I needed a frame for a 300fw and picked one up from service honda for $320 . The local dealer wanted over $700 . Sometimes thier prices are bordering on criminal.

Do you have a website for servicehondahammond. When I type it in nothing comes up but error. Also if anyone as any answers about the VIN's when you buy a new frame let me know.
