Yes, they'd work fine. I'd get the 20" rears (not the 22"). The stock 400 will pull them just fine. Most people will tell you that the best tire is a Hauler. They are great tires. I've got them on my 400EX after riding a couple seasons on Geckos. The geckos are fine for a stock 400ex too (they're a good "play" tire). But, once you've put a pipe/high compression piston/cam/etc...in the bike the only tire you'll want is the Haulers. If you're not going to be a drag racer, any paddle tire is an improvement over the stock tires. I've got the 22" Sand Stars on my V-force, and they work great. So...I guess it all just depends on how much money you want to spend. Whatever you do, check out smimotorsports.com.
