Default 450r vs. 300ex at the dragstrip

that 330EX would need nitrous, a turbo, and be runnin rocket fuel to keep up with a new 450. and a 250x is much different from a 250EX. the 250x is an old 2-stroke. so it would be as fast a a 400. i happen to have a 300ex, and a 450. my friend (same size as me) will be riding it in 4th gear, and i'll still be in first with it almost pinned, and we'll be dead even.

The 250x is the exact same thing, in most ways, as the 300ex. The only differance is about 30cc in displacement and a slightly different reverse mechanism. I think the 300ex has a rev limiter added into the mix where the 250x doesn't. The chassis, suspension, plastic and everything else are identical.

The 250x can be every bit as fast as a 300ex with very few mods. When the 300ex came out the drag times and track times were almost identical. The few extra cc's just give it a touch more torque.

The 250ex is a totally different machine with shaft drive and a semi auto tranni. It's heavier and much slower.

A 330ex will waste a 400ex. There are alot more to drag times than pure hp. A longer swingarm, better tires and a lighter driver can all make a otherwise stock 300ex give a 400ex a run for it's money for the first few hundred feet. 450r's are not any different. If you can't get the power to the ground then having a 50+hp screamer motor wont matter much.

I hope your not aiming that post at me... (because of my puzzled "250X's are 2 stroke, huh")

I know better than anyone whats 2 stroke, and whats 4 stroke.

sorry, got my facts crossed on that one. i was thinkin about a 200 2-stroke that a guy dropped off at the shop today, now i can't even remember what it's called. ne ways...i understand what u mean about not being able to get the power to the ground. but i highly doubt that a lighter swingarm, and dif tires will make a 300EX keep up with a 400EX for the first few hundred feet. my piped 300ex with paddles only keeps up with stock 400EX's for about 30 feet or so, then the 400 pulls away. next time i go riding, i'll drag my 450r against my 300EX, but i wont take the 450 out of first gear. i'll post the results (it will probly be wednesday night). i think it'll be interesting to see how it ends up.
