I have a 1999 Polaris Tralblazer for sale i'm asking 2,500. If I were you i'd go with a newer year becsause you don't know what kind of people had the machine before and maybe they didn't take care of it but a 99 is brand new pratically.

LT250r u may find. it is high performance, high mechanical needs.
Tecate4's are good.
but i think your best bet is 300ex/250x IF YOU CAN FIND IT.
Quadsports, mojaves, and blasters are all good. but mojave is good cuz it has reverse. im not sure about quadsport.

GO WITH THE 250R. ITS FAST IN THE WOODS AND THE DUNES. THE 2 STROKE DOESN'T LAST AS LONG BUT IS ALOT MORE SIMPILAR TO WORK ON

Warrior, Blaster, or Quadracer. They all have enough power to carry you around in the sand (Quadracer will carry you a little faster than the other two) and they all do ok in the woods. I like a four stroke for the woods though so thats why the Warrior is included.

I would get a 300ex or 250x. They will hold up forever, they handle awesome, produce some decent power, not great but ok. They arent the fastest, most powerful machines out there, but they handle great, are 4 stroke, so way cheaper on maintenance and stuff like that.
I have a 250r, which I love, but for an all around machine to go out and have fun, I would take my 300ex back. If you ride much at lower speeds they are much easier to ride. But if you are gonna just go ***** to the wall all the time, a 2-stroke is for that game.

Unless he wants the fastest 4x4, then he buys a Scrambler.

KevinM - Nothing against Scramblers (I love mine) but I don't think he can find one in the price range he's looking at.
I've been looking closely at the Blaster for my son. I understand that the stopping power isn't too good, so maybe aftermarket brakes are the way to go if you choose a Blaster.
