ok, im in a bind. i havnet ridden since 1993. i did take a quick test run on a raptor 660 and damn, that was a nice ride. im looking to buy 2 quads for general trail rideing, some sand rideing too. im torn between a yamaha 660 raptor, a bombardier 650 x, the suzuki z400, the kawisaki KFX700, preditor 500 or maybe a honda. Pretty much anything but a ugly *** banchee. for sure its gotta be a 4 stroke tho. any suggestions?

im actually looking to get 2 of the same quads. one for me and one for my father. both need to be all around quads. i just wish there was a place that you could actually test ride these bikes. im here in california, and its pretty much if you know someone that has something you what, then its cool,. but if not. you gotta buy it and see for youself. kind of a hard way to find things out if you ask me. like i said, ive ridded then 660, thats why i am leaning twards it right now, thats why im asking for any information other people who have ridden these other bikes could give me. ups and downs of them.

well you took 10 years off ay?
So did I.
Be sure get in good with a local chiropractor..... (your mind will write checks your body cant cash)
Anyway,,,,,,for all around,,,,,you cant beat a z400 suzuki
They are pretty cheap,,,no nonsense, reliable sportbikes, with good power for a 400.
They are also very stable and have awesome ergonomics.
Thats what I would get if I were in your shoes,,,,and after taking 10 years off.

your biography sounds like mine
when i got back into riding I was 6'2", 260
I went with a 2000 Honda 400ex,,,,and at the time that bike kept me very happy (the bigbores werent invented yet,,,raptor, ds650, so on)
the 400 was the latest greatest,,,,,and I rode the snot out of it for two years. Awesome no nonsense air cooled 400 (from the XR,,tried and true)
Now I have a raptor '02,,,and I am impressed with the torque, torque, torque, torque, torque!!! It is a great bike too,,,,but take a bit more skill/handlebar time to manage (narrower/taller/powerful)
I still say start out with a simple 400 first (Honda 400ex, Suzuki z400, Kawi kfx400, DVX 400),,,,they have plenty of power for your needs.
Put the beating on the 400,,,,,then step up to a bigbore later on.
you will save a little $$$$ also
