I just dont think i will ever buy anything else.I went riding a few weeks ago in mio mi.
Some trails were tight and tech, others were wide and fast. My ds handled them both
quite well.Im only 5'9 165lb. Ive also only been riding a year.

Well its time for a new(er) quad. I started shopping around for some used quads and there are very little around here. Found a DS650 but its a two hour drive from here, and i want to find out if its worth my while to check it out.
Ok so for all you DS rider can you answer me this;will the DS be good in the following conditions
Back country roads
Bush trails
Gravel pits
Mx tracks
and of course mud
I am trying to find an ATV that can almost do a double duty. One day i may be riding with banshees and mx bikes, and the next riding with sportsmans, and big A-Cats.
I kinda like the size of the ds being a big guy (6ft. 240lbs) but its also a very heavy bike(as far as i know) so i am concerned about that.
I know its kinda hard to have a quad thats the best of both worlds, but who knows?
Also any problems with the 01 model ds? Reliability issues?
Went to the local dealer today to see if they had one in stock i could sit on and get the feel for, but they had none...damn
Any input would be appeciated

The guy is asking if the DS is right for him. I still say no. Read what he will be using it for!!!!
I understand if you like your bike,,,,but that doesnt mean its the best at everything.

i say get a 450R get more spread out handlebars and adjust the footpegs so you are comfy, those are awesome trail machines. they can be very potent MXers and go through mud well and if you get stuck they are light and can pull them out, other very good choices would be YFZ450, raptor, z400/kfx400/dvx400. the DS i think is just too big for some trails and if you plan on doing any MX you will be left in the dust. for mudding its too heavy as well. If you plan on doing trail racing or any serious racing get a YFZ450 (you will have to get a new seat and handlebars). They are pretty much the kings of the racing world.but my friends with 450R's have had no problems whatsoever with their quads and i know i already have had a battery problem with my YFZ.In stock form the YFZ is faster but the 450R is easier to go faster on in the TRAILS.
