This may sound stupid but...........

oh and by the way, your topic doesn't sound stupid. I wish i had known about this website when i was learing how to work a clutch. i probably stalled 3 out of 4 times i tried to start. Good thing it was on a friends bike and not mine. There are some great people on here who are always ready and willing to help when needed.

Well this is Thrash's wife. I'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one who has trouble with the cluch and gas. I went riding last weekend with my new LT230s. It was very hard at first I stalled it about 10 times, I felt like the guys were always waiting on me. When we were up there My husband and a friend and I went to a spot and they went on there own and I got to practice. When it comes to your boyfriend, do you think you would learn better with your bro, boyfriend or by yourself. I would just tell him that you have never drove with a cluch. The way I did it was I gave it a little to much gas then I leaned up a little and let the cluch out slow. I learned better on a tail that had straight aways and little hills. Well good luck and just remember to have fun.

Hey thanx everyone you helped soo much. Ha i went with a friend out riding and i was on a polaris magnum and i let her ride the ex so half way we stopped and i asked her if she would teach me (she just learned herself) so she was on the back i tryed 3 times and it stalled then the fourth time i got accidently poped it into a wheelie (a small one) she luckly slid off the back no harm but we sat there laughing for like 10 min but i didn't try after that..... yet lol. tomorrow my bf is comming up w/ his banshee, he told me that the clutch is real easy, like to pop it in and go is that true???

I would say to pop it in and go is easier said by someone who knows how to ride manual. Just remember to "feather" the clutch and gas to the best of your ability! You best bet (I think) is to try on a downhill. Then you will get used to where the clutch lets out! Then you will not have to worry about popn' a wheelie because you know where abouts the clutch lets out.
Once you find that crucial spot, you can rev the throttle and then slowly let the clutch out at that spot!
Good luck! Practice makes perfect!
