going fast is nice but how many times will you go that fast?
only when racing somebody. when your trail riding you dont need top speed

Check out the suzuki hayabusa 1300, with a turbo charger it can put out around 400hp, probably more.

 

turbo busa's are good for about 210-230 hp. with 13/36 on the 540 I've grazed the 103 mark but it was a one time thing[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] now I'm back to the 12/40, I would rather have nut busting acceleration any day. if you see a 400hp crochrocket it would have to have a big michey out back and wheelie bars

 

I got one better put a Ted McIntyre Y2K Superbike enigine in a quad frame its a rolls royce helicopter turbine engine pushes over 300hp his motorcycles do 250mph 0-200 in 6 seconds!!!!! talk about whiplash.

 

i looked on a website that has turbos for the busa engine and they said with 15 lbs of boost pressure it would take the busa up to 350 hp. something like 10 hp for every lb of boost. the site did say that but i may be wrong on the numbers

 

I hit 100 in 2nd gear.....it can do 180 proboly, But im not going to be the one on the bike going that fast!...

ide rather have arm ripping accelration. You know, the kind of acceleration where it feels like your arms are going to fall off, Your vision blurs and you can bearly see, you feel as if the motor could keep revving for ever. Man i love modified motorS!

I have 2002 Busa lightly modified and it does a tad under 200mph. A friend I ride with has a turbo on his and he can do about 230. On the dyno my bike has 167 hp to the rear wheel. With the turbo my friend has 280 hp. The harsh reality of physics is if everything is equal (weight, drag etc) you have to increase your horse power by a factor of eight to double your speed.

Example: say a stock Yfz450 does 75MPH and has 45HP. To see 150 MPH it would require 360HP.

This example assumes the 75 mph top speed is limited only by parasitical drag on the quad.
