Its easy for consumers to demand things like this. What you have to understand is the years of R&D, millions of dollars, months of testing, and massive logistical issues it takes to develop and distribute a new atv. Especially a sport atv that will be subjected to extreme conditions, speeds, and riders.

The 400-450 class atvs sell much higher volumes than the 650+cc atvs do. Suzuki is busy working on the 450. Polaris has a 500 and are completely new to the sport market. They came out with an atv thats too small to run with the big boys modded, and too big to run with the mx quads. They have enough problems on their hands with the predator without adding another sport atv or two to the mix. They are currently trying to save money as seen by the drop of the marine division. A new sport atv release would be counter intuitive. They are concentrating on thier main market share, utility atvs. The ds 650 baja x is still the fastest atv currently in production. The distribution is just less so than the major japanese companies so there arent as many around. There are plenty of rumours of a 450 cc bomb, but most are unfounded. They are busy converting 2 stroke sleds and watercraft and perfecting sdi along with upgrading thier utility models. A 450 would take more time and money than it would be worth because of intense competition from the other companies. Give them time. They will eventually come out with a smaller sport atv, but the canadian company does not work at the same fevered pitch that the japanese companies do.
