What does it mean to pre-load your suspension? When do you do it and how do you do it safely?

do you mean adjusting the preload or preloading your suspension going through whoops and jumps?

I always thought preloading your suspension was jumping down on the back end to make it go down right before you hit a jump.

Stand up in the attack position, and lean on the front to compress the shocks as you hit the bottom of the takeoff ramp. As you near the top of the ramp, you will get some lift as the springs extend again.

Just in case you meant the other kind:

the preload is how your springs on the shock are set up
it has to do with the weight of the quad and how it sits
when your on the bike. If the bike drops to low when riding and bottoms
out the shock alot than your preload isnt tight enough.
you want to be able to have full travel of the shock
thats what I learned from Elka Suspension
thats if your talking about adjusting your preload
