Budget and whether or not your will be riding in rough terrain would be helpful.

I dont know if I should recommend a honda rancher or bombardier ds 650.

 

14 year old cant afford no 450r, YFZ, or DS. maybee a rappy 350, or a nice used 400ex.

 

hey uhh guys? if u havent noticed, he's 14 and getting his first quad, do u really think that somethin like a 400ex would be good for a beginner? nope, dont think so.... something more like a 250ex, 300ex, blaster, z250

 

ok...he can have a 400ex with like an 8-tooth front sprocket, thatll limit the speed to about 40 or so

 

I learned on a 400 Ex. I think they aren't that bad to start on.

 

I'd say a blaster. Good starter and easily modded.

 

I rode blaster for about two full years and i got reald bored witht them after even a tomey b1. And i have a good size buget prob up to like 6 k because of the good deals out their and my father has like invincibe creidt. Is the zuki relilable enuff? I really dont want a warrior i mean those things are pigs no offence to anyone but thanks for all the replys i just want to know your opinnions because i want a quad brfore winter gets here so im probably looking at about the middle of november or so and yes most people say im quite mature for my age and i know that i can handle a quad after riding go karts at 5 and then my friend's eton at around 8 and a blaster at 10 so i havent ridden a quad frequently since about a year and a half ago but thanks and i know all you guys on this gourm are the best!

hell no, go for a yamah breeze, there the 1337 racing quads, all the pros use them

get a 400ex better trail bike than the yfz and everyone seems to be happy with them
