I was just wondering cause i dont know very much about cannondales. A friend of mine just got a cannondale 440 and is goin to come over and ride with me. I know there pretty fast, but ive never riden one or even seen one. So how you think it will stand up to my 450r, (faster? slower? about the same???) my bike is stock and i think he just has a pipe on his. I know im a better rider then he is, but just comparing the two bikes how do they stand up??
thanks
thanks

Well it'll be close. Going with the staff at D.W. they say the yfz will smoke a raptor in a straight line drag race. Only losing in top speed by about 2mph. Then they said the yfz and the 450r were dead even in a drag race. In one of their past issues i also read that the raptor would out accelerate the cannondale and pred and z-400. That is saying that the 450R is faster from what i gathered. Though i wonder how much yamaha paid D.W. to write all those drag spes to their liking. All i can tell you is this, i have a CRAPTOR 660 (with mods listed below) and can smoke a stock 450R. I have never raced a modified one though. Please write back and tell me how the race went.

well i read an shoot out against the yfz 450, 450r ,predator 500 and the atk 450 and the atk came tied for last agianst the predator the yfz 450 was 1st of course which yamaha paid DW and second place was 450r so i hope this answers you question

They are very close....if you want unique and an iffy future, go with a Atk/Dale, if you want quality, go with the Honda.

Before we get too far into this, we need to know what cannondale he has and the mapping that goes along with that pipe. Nor have you specified the type of race and terrain.
Not only are you quoting your information from a magazine, but you are quoting it from multiple magazines and multiple issues. And you arent even comparing the same atv, but using a transitive propery of inequality to say that one is faster than another is faster than another because its faster than the first... I think you know that the information is speculative at best and certainly not reliable enough for a true comparison on any level. While your personal experience is somewhat useful, it does not include the cannondale in question.
The phantom is...the status quo on this issue and without his traditional unique outlook, otherwise known as slipping...

The ATK releases have all of the updates and have good engine life when you properly take care of it. If you just get on your machine and go, get something else. There is a reason why Ferraris need upkeep, same situation here. Originally posted by: ThePhantomRider

I have ridden a C-dale with the updates and loved it..and the upkeep issue is absolutely correct. Over the next few years, as long as there are parts available, you can have fun with one. Just needs a little more attention than a Honda. It's uniqueness is it's charm..

Im pretty sure he has an 02 c-dale, still unsure on the pipe he's got though. We will be racing on an backwoods motocross track. Its got a little of everything, uphill and downhill jumps, (biggest jump is an 50ft uphill) woops, small rhythem section, big berms, mostly wide track, only a couple tight spots. Its cool track. Fairly small i can only get into 3rd gear In 2 spots and only for a short time.

The power is going to be farily close, on an mx track the difference is going to be just about negligible and the better rider will win.
