What are the basic mods I need to get on my bike to start racing XC? I was thinking:

1. Pipes
2. Air Filters and Air flow
3. Tires
4. Suspension

Can you guys just direct me in the order and brand of which i should get these mods

Are these for a 400ex?
I would make sure and have full skid plates before anything, you may already have these though.
If so, I would get a pipe first off. The 400 doesnt have terrible suspension, so a little extra power would be more helpful, in my opinion. I was at the MX track today, and watched my friend on a stock suspended 400ex with a pipe just eat 2 400's with works shocks and stock pipe alive. They would pull in right behind him (it wasnt a race, just playing around) and within a half lap he was 8-10 seconds ahead of them. Of course this kid is ***** out all the time, I dont think he slows down at all, but I think more power is more important as far as that goes on a 400.
Next I would get suspension, I would go with PEP or TCS zero preloads. I am ordering TCS tomorrow. I wouldnt get extended A-arms if you are woods racing.
Next thing would be wheels and tires, beadlocks are the way to go here, with Razr's, or holeshot XC's or something like that.

1.) Tires - 4 or 6 ply RAZRs or Holeshots
2.) Steering Stabilizer
3.) Suspension - TCS or AXIS
4.) Engine/pipe/intake mods

I have been racing this season with mods 1, 2, and 3 and doing very well on my 400EX...
