Hey if anybody has put a DG pipe or any pipe on a 2002 lakota sport 300. Will you tell me if it really make's a $340.00 dollar difference or should go with something like a DG rcm alloy for $166.95,and is there really a difference in high to low priced pipes.

i got a 2003 lakota and i put the DG xcclerator HP2 system...you can get them cheaper than 340 bucks i got mine for $315 out of rockymountainatv.com...also denniskirk.com has them for like $300 or so...check them out...most people will say that the DG pipe's suck and all they add is noise..but i found mine to give me a ton of power gains across the whole board with the full exhaust and then the jet kit, twin air filter as well...check out my pics to see my pipe...believe me you'll like the pipe and you wont be dissapointed...everyone i talked to whos has had a DG pipe...they all love the power that got from it and the sounds as well...

Thank's for the input Vunit then I guess I will buy a DG. Is that pipe just a slip on or is it all the way back? and what about jetting the carb is that a pain in the *** or is it hard I have never done it to a atv.

no problem man...its a full system from the header back...jetting is not that hard i heard...but i really cant help you out with that cuz i had my dealer do that for me...yeah it costs an extra few bucks but at least i know its done and done right...my quad runs great...never had a problem after it was jetted and i know some people that jetted their quad themselves and they have hard time running them in the winter and warming them up..not for me runs like a dream all year long never faced any problems...

hey Vunit how fast is the lakota after all of your mods.. Like raptor fast or like 400ex fast.I might sell it and get something that I can fix up and it will be faster, then if I put 1000.00 in to the lakota. What can you beat? or do think that is an idea?

Well since i have a lakota with mods,i can help you on this. The lakota with pipe, filter, jetted, and a 13t front sprocket is about 4-5 mph slower than the raptor350 stock, thats not much and its hard to tell the difference riding one and getting on the other and riding.Acceleration the rap350 will pull the kota everytime by atleast a good 4 quad lengths, because of the auto clutch on the lakota. But all in all they both perform close to the same and are in the same atv class.Whether your racing on a track or in the woods, the better rider will win.

I'm not downing my rap 350,its just that if your a really good rider on your lakota, you should hang close with a rap350 and maybe win.But if the rap350 rider is a good rider, then it should beat a kota easy every time.

Oh yeah and top speeds.

Raptor 350 stock is around 60-62mph
Lakota with pipe,filter,jetted,and 13t is around 56-58mph.

No i cant be a raptor 660r...with the 400ex i can hang with them a little...im probably like 5mph slower than a 400ex...i raced my friends and i was keeping up pretty good...I already put over a 1200 bucks into my lakota and i love the out come of it...see what i like about the lakota is that not a lot of people have them and when you see one with a lot of aftermarket parts on it it looks sick..and turns heads...you can get a big bore kit and change the sprockets and youll gain a ton of power for just that...you'll be able to take a 400ex and most-likely stay with a KFX400,z400,probably a raptor as well ...like clover said it really depends on the rider.. in trails and on the tracks...i can beat all 250's 300ex,400ex, (I know people might think i joking but im not)...i ride my kota really hard and with the mods on my quad it really woke it up...if your a really good than you should have no problem keeping up with a raptor660r in the trails..and if your really good and hes stock..you may have a chance on the track...its all the work, time and money you put into the kota...i like kota cuz they are rare and look sick...and they make a ton of mods for them you just gotta look...there a some sick lakota's out there...i plan on a 370 from cwr as soon as i get the money...
