thats what keeped it from winning the shoot out against the honda 450 dirtbike because is had a 4 speed than a 5 speed

It does not matter if they are a 4 or 5 speed for racing. The pro MX/SX guys all start in 2nd gear anyway and never use 1st on the track, there is no need for a 5 speed on a race bike. Perhaps Suzuki was just thinking why put in the extra gear if you don't need it.

 

this is true but alot of people dont race. alot of the enduro bikes are six speed. i dont ride bikes either my spoiled 15 year old nephew has a 04 crf 450 and a 04 pred. so i try to keep up on dirt bikes too. i research stuff for him so when he buys after market stuff i help with his decisions. when he wanted a 500$ w/b carbon tip for his pred he got it. when he wanted a p/c tip for his crf he got it.
