Hey yall, a good friend of mine has an 02 300 Ex and everytime he rides it, it gets slower. At first it was pretty quick for a 300 but now a 300 bayou can outrun it. It runs great don't smoke, lots of power, has no problems starting either. After he geared it up +2 so he could even the power from the pipe it added a good 7 mph. But then it started going down hill. With the pipe and +2 sproket it would barely barely...outrun a stock 4wd racnher. Yfzrydermace knows what i'm talking about. His rancher will outrun it too. But the ex still runs like new. It has a new clutch and new gears front and back. New chain, and has been regulerly maintaninced. So what is wrong with this thing?

 

Not getting the right fuel or air mix.

 

thats 99% the reason right there 1% he just dont know how to ride the quad LOL!!!!

 

How can the top speed be affected by riding skill?

 

he might not have a heavy thumb like most of us do.

 

did he rejet the carb when he put the pipe on?

 

If its not jetting right you can fry a piston.
