What machine is better
#3
The Shee was ok in its day, but is now obsolete. The motor is a thrill, but has no low end for trail riding. The frame is weird (it's a little front heavy) and the suspension is poor, by todays standards.
The Z400 is probably the best all-around machine out there. It does everything well, and the motor can be hopped up quite a bit. Handling is excellent, and it has a light feel.
I pick the 450R only for open desert and fast more open trails. The motor likes to rev and it doesn't like to go slow, so it is a poor choice for any kind of technical trail riding. With some gearing changes, it might work as a trail bike.

As with all of these posts, the most important thing is what the poster is going to use the atv for. Obviously if he's going to mx the banshee is out of the question, but for the dunes its a great pick. Judging from the fact that he lives half way between Lansing and Detroit I'm going to say his main riding with be tighter trails. In that case I'd say the z400 is the best pick for him. If he plans on running nearby MX or harescrambles, I'd opt for the trx450R.

Only because of EPA restrictions, not because its no longer a viable product. I'm sure there will be plenty of used ones around too.

Get the Z4oo it is very well geared stock if ur looking for something that will go almost as fast as a 660 raptor stock. then gt it becuz the z400 has better handling and for 50 dollars u can buy a alba kit and you could beat a piped raptort depending on alba kit of course.
