3 stroke engine?

I agree. So here's a question with fuel injection. So you do some mods like pipes and air box lids. With a carb you put in different jets. What happens with EFI? Does it have the "smarts" to automatically adjust the air/fuel ratio?

The fucture of quads is proably going to be 4-stroke fuel injection.

efi works just like your car. it has an ecu. the ecu will detect any small changes (exhaust, filter, airbox lid, etc.) and it will adjust for more air/fuel, spark advance and so forth. any big changes like bore, and an ecu upgrade or reflash will be needed

There could never be a 3 stroke engine. A 2 stroke fires everytime the piston reaches tdc (top dead center) well, actually a few degrees before depending on timing. A 4 stroke fires every other time. Each time it goes up or down it's counted as a stroke so a 3 stroke would have to fire at bdc (bottom dead center) every other time it fired which is 100% impossible as you need to compress the air fuel mixture to combust then where would it drive the piston? It's already down.
As for fuel map automaticaly adjusting the air fuel mixture that is untrue. You can have your computer re-mapped to fatten up the fuel mixture.

I was reading an article about a 2/4 stroke hybrid that was called a 3-stroke. Basically a 2-stroke style engine (no cam, piston/cylinder acts as valves) but it only fires every other time (4-stroke)
What are the advantagea? Low cost to produce, lighter weight and lower emissions than typical 2-stroke. Disadvantages? Limited power band and lacks 2-stroke power. May be your future weed wacker??????

I have heard about a new and exciting sport 4 wheeler, speaking of odd stroked engines. Polaris is coming out with 51 stroke diesel powered monster. It has all the normal strokes, and then 47 useless ones.
Come on people. 3 stroke engines . . . Jesus Christ.

Yet you add absolutely nothing constructive to the conversation.
Please bless us with your vast knowledge of combustion engines. (where's the rolling eyes while jerking off smiley?)
