Default Different gases?

Is it fine to put in super unleaded gas into a 4 stroke atv. Accidentally filled the gas tank up with the wrond fuel, I was half asleep.

Do you mean 91 octane? If you have a stock 4-stroke that's ok but not ideal, but if you have a high compression race motor, the more octane the better to a certain point. Always run at least 93 octane premium.

I believe it was 93, I went night riding with some in the gas tank, nothing happened at all really, I was a littel afraid it would burn my piston rings or something. I couldn't tell if it ran different either. My quad is straight stock.

Running a HIGHER octane than the motor requires, isn't going to cause a problem. But running a LOWER octane than recommended, will cause problems (detonation, pinging, valve, etc.).

What octane does your owners manual recommend??? I actually excede the recommended octane by a couple of points, just for insurance against any detonation. But, going any more than that would be a waste of money, and going way over can actually hurt performance.

The biggest downside of running premium when you don't need it is that it burns slower, and leaves more carbon buildup than regular. Running it once won't hurt it all

When you are paying 2.50 for regular, whats another 15-20 cents for premium when you are only buying 3-6 gallons?

There is a gas station near me that has Sunoco 100 octane gas for $3.33, wimpy premium 93 is $2.78, so I always run at least a mix of race gas.
