Given the prices and your situation you listed, I agree with Maddog and the others. The 05 400EX is your best choice and one you won't regret......................

If you talk to a gm at a dealership you'll have better luck on the prices. I bought mine here and when I talked to a local gm (general manager) that we were riding with he said they would have beat the price. If your persistant enough you should be able to get them to at least match the prices here. Then you can make your decision based on which one is better, rather than which one is cheaper.

Got a call from one of the dealers ive been talking to and he came down to $3995 for a new 05 400ex in my choice of color. He said he still has all 3 colors. The 400ex is looking more like the one if I cant find a dealer that will do anything on a kfx/z

that's a really great price, you should get it while the gettins good!! Be prepared for him to tack on some fees for crate and dealer prep. See if you can avoid paying them. Sounds like you're doing pretty good hunting down the best price so far.

PS Why does it seem like we can get much better pricing on the z in the northeast ? Other people have asked me that, but I don't know the answer. Seems like the rest of the country can't keep them on the showroom floor and won't cut deals.

Yeah man, thats a really good price on a 05 EX. They wanted that much for the leftover 04s a couple of months ago around here. The Z maybe a little better quad but even the cheapest price I've ever seen them at is still a grand more than your deal. With either one you go with, you'll never look back at the Warrior again.........

LOL I just don't have any brand loyalty. I know you're probably looking at my sig and saying "Yea F you, ya don't!!" But the truth is, I had an 86 trx250r, completely stock, in my ebay watch page that I was waiting until the last minute to bid on. I just missed by like an hour because I forgot. It only went for like $1550. I kept looking and looking, but couldn't find another deal like that. I also had my quadracer in my watch page. The guy had the starting bid at $1900, the reserve at $2000 and the buy it now at $2500. He had no bids when the auction ended and I emailed him. Told him "Hey, I wasn't looking to spend more than $1600 and you had you're reserve at $2000. I'm willing to meet in the middle, but only if you let me know right away before I bid on something else." He jumped all over that. Then I got sick of changing and cleaning plugs or otherwise working on it. So I did my research until I finally came up with my decision in about August. Had a new z Sep. 3

The problem we have around here on kawasaki and suzuki is there are no big dealers around that carry them. All the big guys are honda and yamaha and a couple have polaris as well. The suzuki dealer here is a Harley dealer and could care less about suzuki. He just built a new huge showroom and I went in and they have 4 quads inside. The kawaski dealer is a lawnmower place and carries a few kawasaki and Arctic Cat atv's. In there defense they are no higher than the local honda/yamaha dealer in my town but have two mega dealers about a hour or so away that give good prices especially when they know your driving past your dealer to get to them.
