I will admit I have seen out at the dunes a LT 230 quadsport actually spank piped 250r's back in the day....

My buddy built it, and this is how it was done.

He lightened it as much as possible, stripped anything un-necessary, made a bunch of lightweight replacement parts as he had a complete machine shop to access as a teenager, and was an accomplished machinist as a teenager.

Bored it to 270, then balanced and blueprinted the whole thing, lighened the flywheel, did a complete big valve custom head, hand built exhaust tuned specifically to the intake tract, which had a Lectron Carb pupming alcohol.

Now this was a lot of work, but on the outside, it remained stock looking aside from some works shocke.

Man it was hillarious to see 250r dudes come over and scratch their heads!!

It didnt at the 2003 AMA National Ice races, the zuki took 1st over a built 400ex both with experienced racers. Seems as though a bent tie rod can cause some issues on the track...
