What is the better between the 2 and which will be the more bang for buck? Which sounds better, not neccesarily quiet but sounds like a monster.

I don't know about the performance but every 300ex or 250x I've seen with an FMF exhaust had the plastic melted right where the pipe passes by it. If you go with FMF plan on putting some sort of heat shield material on the on the plastic.

The MegaMax is kind of old school. I have it on my Rancher and 250EX. I have the PowerCore on the 400EX. The PowerCore is the way to go on your 250. When I bought a PowerCore for my 300EX, it came with a header. That stock header is pathetic.

If you're hellbent on fmf then the powercore 4 is the better choice (bolts seized up on my recon's megamax 2 and I couldn't repack it) but neither of these pipes sound as aggressive as free-flowing pipes like hmf, big gun, yoshi, and pro circuit. My buddy has a powerbomb header and powercore 4 on his warrior, and I just have an HMF slip on on mine. We both agree that the HMF sounds WAY better. The powercore has a more muffled 'fluffy' sound compared to the HMF's deep thump that sounds like sasquatch coming through the woods.

Or I was thinking that I could save up 70 more bucks for a curtis sparks exhaust? Also, do you guys think i should keep my moose foam filter thats still in excellent condition or get a k&n filter?

to me there's not enough difference between a good foam filter and a K&N to justify spending the extra money. A foam filter will do a better job of catching fine particles of dust than a K&N also.

There's a few ways you can go about getting jet estimates

If you get an aftermarket exhaust the manufacturer should be happy to give you some jetting recommendations.

If you decide to buy a jet kit that will come with a sheet with jetting recommendations.

I usually just talk to the mechanics at the local powersports shop and they've always gave me good baselines.
