I had a 87 zilla for 8 years and mine would do just under 80 mph with the airbox lid on and stock pipe Maybe 85 with pipe filter and reeds If you short shift the zilla it was way quicker than tring to rev it out in each gear

Its kinda funny in a way. You can always tell who actually owns or has owned a certain machine or not. The guy who says a quadzill will do 110 obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Sure, maybe if its heavily modified but not stock. Then you have a guy like 4FITTY who owned one and tells the honest truth that they only did low 80's stock. I don't know about you but I roll my eyes and laugh at some of the bs that comes out of some peoples mouths.

I've had a 90 Quadzilla with 22" rear tires and with the taller 14 tooth front sprocket it would fly on the topend. According to the gearing computer it could hit 100mph at 8500rpm. A stock 13 tooth sprocket and 20" rear tire would net 85mph at 8500rpm. I will say all wound out it was hard to physically hold on to the bars as the wind really hits you. Your visor tries to rip your helmit off your head. The taller gearing helped keep the front wheels down but it still could pull up in 3 gears. Mine was lightly modded with 020over, pipe, filter and roost boost. It was awesome to ride and I didn't have the typical 2-stroke problems you hear about, plug fouling, hard to start, breaking down. Mine ran great and I used it mostly in the woods and coal hill climbs. I wanted electric start and reverse so I got a 700 V-Force.

An article had come out of "Dirt Wheels" back in late 86 or early 87 that listed all top speed for popular sport quads of the time. The 87 Zilla was at the top of the list at 79.8 MPH followed closely by the ever popular Banshee. These #'s were on 100% stock machines. There was no update for the following years. however I suspect the Zilla lost a few MPH in 88 through 90 since Suzuki has decreased the size of the read cage...for what reason???.... I dunno!!.

Original reports on the pre-production Zillas (before they were released to the public) did reach 110 mph.

I used to have one but it needed a lot of work just to reach 75 mph. It was beat to crap before I bought it. I did ride an '87 that was extremely built. Do I think "IT" would have done 110 mph?

Yes, and then some.
