this is my first yamaha and first time ever rideing a raptor. I like big power and lots of torque and this one has it also i real like the EFI or so yamaha calls it YFI. now i know the yfz is a quicker machine ( i just dont like it) but what about top end, at all out top speed which one is faster?

Congrats on your new machine! Those YFZs are quick machines, no doubt but these two are fairly close in a drag. I do think the 700 has a higher top speed....enjoy!

im not talking about drag races. yes the yfz will win. im saying all out top speed... over time. take for exp.. you don't see many 450s raceing the baja 1000. but lots of biger bores, like the xr650s, ds650s, kfx700, even brp800s. you see what im saying..........like over a long distance / period of time. im shure that 686cc displacment can out haul that 449cc.

i think why theres the big bores running the baja is because they have more bottom end to turn taller gears, and because they can turn taller gears they run at lower RPMS which increases fuel millage and reliability. i sure as hell woudlent want to rely on any form of YFZ for 1000 miles straight.

to get a sence, the Trophy trucks run through about 1000 gallons of Race Gas in the Baja 1000
