Default Which One?

I am going to buy a new quad perdy quick and i was wondering which quad i should get between the Z400 and the 400ex. The thing i am looking for in a quad is ability to go up some good hills and go through some mud and water so it needs to have perdy good low torque and has to be reliable.

The Z-400 has more power then 400 ex, my buddies have them, so i ride the 450R, i mean, they are both pretty good bikes, if you want to wheelie alot, go for the 400EX, or it depends how you ride...so, uphills, if u want a lots of torque up hills, that would be the Z400, the 400Ex handles really good, but cheaper then suki!

12 comma's in one sentence. That should be a record.

The 400ex has a little more torque, and likes to lug. The Z has a few more hp, but likes being up in the rpm range. The Honda will typically be a little less money, and IMO last longer. They really are close, so the choice should be decided on which one feels better, when you sit on them.

Thanks alot guys I'm thinking that I am going to go with the 400ex. I've always been a honda fan and I don't really need the extra few horse power that the z400 offers as i am usually riding with my family at slower speeds. Thanks.

I own both.

I like the EX for slower, technical trails, because it has a motor that will lug down and can be ridden slowly.

The Z likes to rev, so I pick it for more open trails, and fast riding on fire roads. This engine has huge hop-up potential!

I would give the EX the nod for low end grunt, and the Z the nod for top end rev.

Both have excellent handling and quality, but if you get a Z, be sure they replace the magnexium clutch and water pump covers with aluminum ones, before you leave the shop.

I'd get the honda and just add a slip on exhaust,an new air filter system and re jet the carb and you"ll have all the power you need. Get the Honda....cause it's a Honda!
