CHAine Lube???
#11
just a quick note.... WD40 in not a lube.... Its mainly a degreaser and more of a cleaner than anything else... it in no way provides enough lube to satisfy my quad..... I have used PJ1 Chain Lube that comes out as a foam and really does a good job of coating the chain, also I have used a chain wax which also works well, only thing i dont like about the wax is the time it takes to apply... you have to ride the quad for a few minutes get the chain hot or the wax doesnt work as well.... I would stick with PJ1 Chain Lube... Good Stuff... DO NOT JUST USE WD 40 i mean I love the stuff for a number of things but not chainlube

I had been using chain wax for my ds650 and just switched over to bell ray I love this chain lube my cahin wax which I used before attraced alot of dirt and kept flinging off and getting qall over my engine but the bell ray doesn't seem to do that. So I would agree with what ss97 had said to you and go with the bel ray and just make sure to clean all of the junk and debrise off before applying the lube. It'll problably set you back about 12 bucks.

Ok here is the deal,, anything that says on the label "wont fling off" means just one thing, its tacky, tacky in the sand means one thing, sand and grit stuck on your chain.. O ring chains have grease internally in each link sealed by an o'ring. they dont need any lube, anything you spray on your chain just attracts junk to help destroy it.. I use trilube spray just to basically keep off the rust and after i wash it i will spray it. Never chain wax !!!!

I've used WD-40 for years on o-ring chains, the chain lube is applied when the chains are assembled and the o-rings seal in the lube and seal out the dirt so all you need to do is keep the chain clean and rust free. WD will do that, or you can waste your cash on all the other miracle lubes on the market......

I use WD40 immediately after washing or after riding in lots of water. I use BelRay chain lube after a short warm up ride. I do this for both o-ring and conventional chains.

I have used WD-40 for many years on o-ring and non o-ring chains with very good results. If you ride in sand most chain lubes will reduce chain life because of the fact that they will make sand stick to the chain,WD-40 will not.

Isn't WD40 kind of... light? Like it will be in no use after the chain slings around 100 times? I've been wondering that because WD40 is what I use, and it seems like I have to put it on ALOT! I dunno....
