a 12 to 1 piston in a raptor 700, what octane level should you run to prevent spark knock and get great performance??

IMHO, around 100. A lot of things go into this though. I would put 100 in it and make a few passes and pull the plug and check for signs of detonation.

I saw a study on race fuels quite a few years ago. To sum it up, they were all real close the way they were made. Just slight differences in formulations.
Sunoco makes some good fuel. Sounds like your making the right choice with the 104. The only thing I don't like about unleaded is it makes plugs REALLY hard to read.
If the 104 is available in your area for a good price, that is what I would use.
