I'll vote for the z400...... best all around bang for the buck.......... a nice stock weekend trail machine, and with even just a few mods it can be competitive with the big boys....

 

The 250R is the best atv ever made. Only draw back was the kickstart. Banshees' and Zilla maybe fast if you can keep them running. But, the topic was best atv ever! Therefore, the 250R wins this issue hand down. However, to be fair I have not rode a Zilla nor have I even seen one in the last ten plus years. I do see them on ebay for sale but thats about it.

 

im just wondering if these people who are voting for the newer bikes know the history of our four wheelers...

 

i know alot about the classic quads, i just think that the most compatible sport ATV is the Z-400

yeah the 250R and the Banshee are awesome! but the newer technology is just as competitive w/the classic's

 

yeah, but they are classics for a reason. i understand the new quads are more competetive and reliable, but they are classics... classics

Classic-yes
Done more to shape/change todays quads-yes
Most versatile, user friendly, reliable--maybe not

The newer technology(that has their roots in the originals/classics) are surpassed with better metallurgy, suspension, efficiency, reliability, convenience, etc.

The newer models have taken all the knowledge of the classics, expanded on it and produced better quads.

 

i just think in 20 years, this years z400 or any quad for that matter will still not be as popular as the 250r is today. thats why i think the classics are the best

 

Classics are good but in 10yrs they will they will be obsolete(cant spell).I have alwaysed believed in the 250r but its old technology.This thread is the best quad ever.But if it was best overall performance the 250r would be killed,banshee.I love the quadzilla though.New thechnology is just catching up and passing the old stuff.As that happens to everything.But i agree the 250r,banshee,quadzilla is one of the all time great quads.

you spelled obsolete right. but im just saying the 250r has had a 20 year run in the game even after it has been discontinued. thats why i like it
