What is the best trail sport quad and what is the best all around sport quad?

 

It all depends on what you like. Almost any atv with reverse can be considered a good trail quad. Some that stand out to me are the raptor, 300ex, and warrior. There are so many though. Since your stepping up from a blaster I assume, I would go with a raptor or a 400 of some sort. (z400, kfx400, 400ex)

Best trail, 300EX and 400EX.

Best all around, Z400 and maybe Raptor 700 (???).

The 450's are ok for faster trails, but are a handfull on tight, slow trails. These engines like to rev, and go fast, so they are not the hot ticket for riding slow, technical stuff.

 

The YFZ would do great on the trails. And remember....you can never have to much power [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]. I think the raptor has more bottom end than the YFZ accually. Especialy the 700. What kind of trails do you ride?

 

I disagree with Rapine. I ride trails with a guy on a YFZ. On the 400EX I can put it in first and just idle thorugh the nasty stuff. He is having to rev it and work the clutch. It stalls a lot, and over heats when ridden slow.

 

my predator works wonderfull through all the trails around here, i can usually keep up with the big independent suspension 4x4 guys untill everything gets really sloppy.

 

I got a Rappy 350 and love the handling that thing provides on the trails, reverse, reliability, low maintence , comfortable.

 

i like my 450r for trails. it has plenty of power for anything, but i lowered the front sprocket to a 13 and i have no probs with stalling at slow speeds.
