How many of you with kfx/Ltz 400, the 450's, Raptors, etc with stock sprockets are slipping the clutch, killing it, etc, when riding very rough sections of trails. I mean rough with rocks or small logs??
We have a kfx 400 and a ltz 400 and have changed both front and rear sprockets. Front to 12 tooth (stock is 14) and rear to 44 tooth (stock is 40), and really like this for the rough trail riding. Allows you to creep along in low gear. Does cut you top speed down but I do not care about that.
We also have a raptor 350 that we put a 12 tooth on the front ( stock is 13) and a 40 on the rear (stock is 38), and it works very well on the rough trails. Actually the Raptor 350 is slightly better for trail riding then the 400 due to being narrower and shorter. However, the raptor 350 does not cut it in sand dunes due to lack of low end torque. thus the 400's make a better all around machine for us.
